during the asus net book review, josh, paul, and nilay get into a discussion on the color brown. brown was apparently a popular color for gadgets back then, and nilay is excited about it because he, it seems, identifies as brown. he starts to talk about how cool it is that brown is being included in the limited colorscape of electronic accessories, but josh and paul are having a totally parallel conversation. nilay tries to communicate to them that brown is awesome and he's into it because he IS brown, but they're so not getting to his page.
josh: "why are people so down on brown? I think it's a cool color."
nilay: "who's down on brown?"
paul: "for me, it's just not an every day color."
nilay: "guys, you're killing me."
josh: "why, did you want to buy a brown one?"
nilay: "no, I personally am, that's what I'm saying."
I think that josh and paul thought that nilay's "I am," meant, "I do plan to buy one," rather than "my skin is brown." I love that nilay is happy that gadgets are looking more like him, and that paul and josh have no clue whatsoever that nilay is telling them that. it must be so weird to be white.

apparently josh identifies as male, since when nilay tells him that to solve his quandry about whether he should get the bberry storm or the bold, he just has to ask himself whether or not he's as cool as lindsey lohan, or john mayer, josh responds by saying, "whatever john mayer has is what I want. whatever john mayer is using is what I want to use."
paul only uses his right shift key. nilay's right shift key isn't worn at all. How Would You Type If You Only Used Your Right Shift Key? Wow, By Doing This Exercise, I've Learned That I Mostly Use My Left Shift Key. it turns out that both paul and nilay are left-handed, to which josh responds, "...you'll both die before me." ONLY a true nerd would say that so unabashedly.
also in 115, we find out that josh is a canon powershot fanboy, paul cries again, and nilay calls himself a dude.
two follow-up questions: 1) are there really casio fanboys? 2) is high-speed photography really THAT cool?
